Parrot Rock is a prominent rocky outcrop that sits in the water at the far eastern end of Mirissa Bay, roughly 50m from the beach and accessible by a short swim at low tide. The top of the rock is flat enough to stand on and provides a ground-level panorama across the bay toward Coconut Tree Hill. It is a popular cliff-jumping spot with the main drop of around 5m into clear water below. The rock is unmanaged with no safety facilities, so assess the water depth yourself before jumping, as depth changes with the tide. At high tide, the rock is harder to reach safely. The western side sometimes provides a sheltered spot to watch the sunset over the bay.
Check the tide before attempting to swim out — approach at low tide and return before the tide turns.
Assess the water depth before cliff jumping, as it varies with the tide.
Combine with Coconut Tree Hill for a half-day exploring the eastern headland.
