Honda Fit Shuttle

The Honda Fit Shuttle (GP2 hybrid / GG7 petrol) is a station-wagon-bodied version of the Fit/Jazz, imported to Sri Lanka in large numbers as a used Japanese vehicle. The extended rear body gives noticeably more boot space than an Axio or Prius — roughly 270 to 320 L depending on the variant — while the overall footprint stays compact and easy to park. The hybrid GP2 returns excellent fuel economy on long transfers.

It seats 5 comfortably. The rear seat fits 2 adults with adequate legroom; 3 adults is a squeeze on journeys over 2 hours. Luggage runs to 2 medium suitcases plus 2 cabin bags in the boot, sometimes more if bags are soft-sided. Sri Lankan hire operators use it as a budget-conscious upgrade for small families or groups of 3 who need extra luggage room that the Axio cannot fully provide.

Ground clearance is around 135 mm — the same practical limitation as any small car. All sealed tourist routes are fine: Colombo to Kandy, Kandy to Ella, the Southern Expressway, the cultural triangle. No safari tracks or rough village roads. If you need more clearance or 4WD, move up to a Vezel or CR-V.
