Honda Vezel

The Honda Vezel (RU1/RU3 generation, also sold as HR-V in some markets) is one of the most common compact SUVs in Sri Lanka's used-import hire market. Operators including Casons, Lanka Holidays, MySL Travel, and Sri Lanka Private Driver all list it. The 1.5L hybrid gives strong fuel economy; the AWD variant on the hybrid provides extra traction on wet or steep sealed roads.

Ground clearance is 170 mm, better than any sedan in the fleet and enough to handle the hill country sealed roads with noticeably more confidence. The same practical limit applies: all sealed tourist routes are fine, but unpaved safari tracks and rough village roads are not suitable. For the full circuit (Colombo, Kandy, Ella, Galle, cultural triangle) the Vezel is a solid choice for 2 to 3 passengers who want more security on mountain roads than a Prius gives.

Five seats, with the rear seat comfortably fitting 2 adults. The boot holds 304 L with seats up, 2 medium suitcases and 2 carry-ons fit well. With the rear seats folded, cargo space jumps to 1,274 L, though you will not fold seats with passengers aboard.
