Nuwara Eliya to Bentota
Nuwara Eliya to Bentota, via Ratnapura
A long descent from the hills to the west coast, honestly the longest transfer of the trip at roughly 5-5.5 hours. We break it up with a stop in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka's gem-trading centre, for a coffee or a short walk before continuing on to the coast, turning one long push into two shorter legs either side of a proper break. Check in for two nights on Bentota's beach, with the rest of the day free to settle in.
