Sri Lanka Itinerary: 5 Days - Elephant Safari & Cultural Triangle
A short trip with a clear priority. From Habarana, a small town between two national parks, you take an afternoon jeep safari timed for The Gathering, the seasonal massing of wild elephants at Minneriya's reservoir. Sigiriya's rock fortress is twenty minutes away for the second morning. Kandy breaks the return journey, so the trip ends with the Temple of the Sacred Tooth rather than a long drive.

Habarana
Land at the airport and drive to Habarana, a small town that serves as the safari base for two national parks, about 4 hours through Negombo and the market town of Kurunegala. Settle in for the evening.
