Circuit Sri Lanka en 10 jours : Léopards, baleines et oiseaux
Les léopards de Yala à l'aube, les flamants de Bundala et trois nuits à Mirissa pour deux matinées de baleines bleues entre novembre et avril.Ce circuit rassemble les trois grands rendez-vous animaliers du Sri Lanka en un seul voyage : les léopards de Yala, les baleines bleues de Mirissa et une avifaune sérieuse entre les deux. Yala reçoit deux nuits, de quoi caser un safari à l'aube et un autre l'après-midi, avec les zones humides de Bundala, un site Ramsar où hivernent les flamants, juste à côté. Mirissa garde trois nuits, ce qui ouvre deux créneaux d'observation des baleines à l'aube entre novembre et avril au lieu de tout miser sur une seule matinée.

Sigiriya
Jour 1 : Atterrissage et transfert direct vers Sigiriya (environ 4 heures via Kurunegala et Dambulla). Une journée pensée pour la route seule : installation, un bon repas, récupération du vol.

Jour 2 : La citadelle rocheuse de 200 mètres de Sigiriya à l'ouverture des portes à 7 h, avant la chaleur, puis un safari en jeep l'après-midi au parc national de Kaudulla ou de Minneriya, fiables pour les éléphants toute l'année, le grand rassemblement de plusieurs centaines d'animaux culminant de juillet à octobre.
Kandy
Jour 3 : Kandy est à environ 2 h 30 via Matale. La promenade autour du lac, puis la puja du soir au Temple de la Dent sacrée, qui se déroule environ de 18 h 30 à 20 h.

Temple of the Tooth Relic
Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy houses a tooth relic of the Buddha and has been the most sacred Buddhist site in Sri Lanka since the 4th century AD.
Udawattakele Forest Reserve
A 104-hectare protected cloud forest reserve directly above central Kandy, with 68 recorded bird species and multiple walking trails through bamboo groves and tropical trees.

Ella
Jour 4 : La longue traversée des collines jusqu'à Ella, environ 4 h 30 sur la sinueuse route A5 à travers les plantations de thé. Le Little Adam's Peak, un aller-retour facile d'une heure à une heure et demie, permet de se dégourdir les jambes avant le dîner.

Jour 6 : Safari à l'aube à Yala pour la meilleure lumière et les meilleures chances de voir un léopard, puis l'après-midi aux zones humides de Bundala, un site Ramsar où hivernent les flamants roses parmi près de 200 espèces d'oiseaux recensées.
Mirissa
Jour 7 : La route vers Mirissa prend environ 2 heures par l'A18 et l'autoroute du Sud. Installation pour trois nuits ; l'après-midi est pour la plage, et la soirée se termine tôt : les bateaux d'observation des baleines partent au lever du jour.

Parrot Rock (Mirissa)
A large flat-topped rock at the eastern end of Mirissa Bay, reachable by a short swim at low tide, popular for cliff jumping into 5m water below.
Coconut Tree Hill (Mirissa)
A small rocky headland east of Mirissa beach planted with tall coconut palms, offering a 270-degree ocean panorama 20m above the water — one of Sri Lanka's most photographed viewpoints.
Mirissa Beach
A 1km crescent bay 150km south of Colombo, Sri Lanka's primary departure point for blue whale watching (November to April), with a calm swimming beach and a growing restaurant scene.

Jour 8 : Observation des baleines au départ de Mirissa, bateaux partant vers 6 h 30 entre novembre et avril, période où les baleines bleues se montrent plus souvent qu'autrement le matin ; les sorties durent de 3 à 5 heures et la mer peut être agitée, à prévoir.
Mirissa, à votre rythme
Jour 9 : Une matinée de réserve : une seconde sortie baleines si la première a été agitée, ou du snorkeling dans la baie tranquille de Weligama, à vingt minutes le long de la côte. Coucher de soleil depuis Coconut Tree Hill.
Vol retour
Jour 10 : Une dernière matinée à la plage, puis l'autoroute jusqu'à l'aéroport, environ 3 h 30 ; prévoir un vol en fin d'après-midi ou en soirée.
